Meet Your Bruja BFF: @hijadelsoltarot

Before Thee Rona showed up, I wanted to go back to my original blogging roots of sharing in my newsletters. I never had the time to regularly execute them, since I usually work so hands on, but I am so pumped to finally roll it out! This idea was bred out of the fact that I work on so many kick-ass people in so many different industries in LA.  I wanted to launch out a series meant to keep eyes on supporting small independent businesses and individuals, especially during this time more than ever. This is LA. We are vibrant. We are multi-cultural, we are flavor! We are what makes LA, LA! I hope you enjoy this series, as much as I have had time to put it together. My first feature is on the effervescent Kaitlyn of @hijadelsoltarot

Mo: Kaitlyn welcome. First things first, what's your sign?

Kaitlyn: Gemini Sun, Scorpio Moon, Cancer Rising 👯🦂🦀

M: Lots of water in there! Wow. I'm more gemini than you. 😂 Now tell us a little bit about yourself.

K: My name is Kaitlyn and I am a psychic medium in Los Angeles, CA. Through direct channeling and tools like the tarot, I connect my clients to their guides, ancestors and other spirits. I offer spiritual counseling, mentorship, seances, spiritual cleansings and workshops.

M: Talk to me about your journey with Hija Del Tarot.

K: I have been a witch my entire life! Some of my earliest memories are playing in my grandmothers' and father's gardens, talking to plant spirits, making potions, imagining rituals. Spirituality, witchcraft, divination have always had their place in my life. A true solar gemini, I have taken every opportunity to research and read and as questions and learn. I started playing cards with my grandmother every week when I was about 4 years old. I have always loved the crisp feel of a fresh deck, the sound of the cards slapping against each other during a good shuffle. At 17, I bought my first tarot deck at the Bodhi Tree on Melrose. I taught myself to read and it became something I did here and there for myself and for a few trusted friends. I gave a decade of my life to the apparel industry and read on the side for a few loyal clients and a pop up market here and there. I worked really hard to nurture my little spiritual business while taking care of a family and working full time in busy showrooms. I was let go from my last apparel job in May of 2019 and Hija del Sol became my sole work.

M: That's super radical! And you do have the cutest little family ever.

M: Can you tell us some of the services you currently offer.

K: I am currently offering a service called Zoom Spirit Circle. It's a private Zoom tarot party for you and up to 5 friends. I lead the group through a brief breathing exercise and meditation. Then, each client takes a turn receiving a reading on whatever topic or question of their choice. These circles are lovely and intimate. We laugh, we cry, we connect while safely social distancing. This service is being offered at an introductory rate of $100 per hour. That's $100 for up to 5 people, not per person!

M: I saw your most recent new service called Spiritual Maintenance, which I feel a lot of us can use right now. Talk to us about that.

K: Spiritual Maintenance is so beautiful! It launched Saturday April 18th with a focus on Childhood. I lead a group of about 15 people through a potent inner child meditation. Each meeting, our focus will be different, my offerings will be different and there will always be a chance for a few participants to have a personal channeled reading from me. My goal with Spiritual Maintenance is to provide accessible, routine spiritual healing. Maintaining our spiritual health is just as important as our physical, mental emotional health.

M: Lastly, what's your favorite service at Mobetta Beauty and why?

K: Something that I speak of to my clients with great frequency is the importance of spiritual cleansing. Keeping your energy clear and clean puts you in the best position for navigating through your daily grind. That is why I love Mo's facials. Her method of cleansing the skin is also a ritual for cleansing the busy energy of the mind.
